Instructions for papers in the Springer's LNCS
There are five steps you need to follow:
1) Revise your paper;
2) Prepare the final camera-ready paper;
3) Fill out the copyright form;
4) Register for the symposium;
5) Upload your paper, scanned copyright form and proof of payment in the online paper submission system (the last two items can be also faxed; see Registration page for details).It is crucial for you to follow the above steps and deadline (June 20, 2008) to avoid leaving your paper out of the Proceedings. The details are as follows.
1) Revise your paper as soon as possible according to the comments of the reviewers. You may view the reviewers' ratings, comments, and/or suggestions about the paper in your author's account of the ISNN2008 Online Submission System (click Paper Submission on the right panel of this page). Please improve your writing if possible.
2) Prepare your paper in the exact format as the sample paper for LNCS. Failure to do so may result in the exclusion of your paper from the proceedings. Please read the authors’ instructions carefully before preparing your papers. The sample paper and author instructions for LaTeX users can be found at llncs2e.zip and typeinst.zip
Springer does not encourage the use of Microsoft Word, particularly as the layout of the pages (the position of figures and paragraphs) can change between printouts. However, they do provide the relevant templates and sample files for PC (sv-lncs.dot) and Mac (sv-lncs) environments. Please download word.zip.If you need more help on preparing your papers, please visit Springer's LNCS web page.
Each paper is allowed to have 6-10 pages in the final camera-ready copy without paying extra charges. However, it is important that the minimum length of your paper must be at least 6 pages. If your paper is less than 6 pages or more than 10 pages without paying extra page charges (for the amount of extra page charges please refer to the Registration page) in the final camera-ready copy, we will not publish your paper and we will not refund your registration payment. We recommend 6-8 pages for papers scheduled for interactive sessions and 9 or over 9 pages for papers scheduled for oral presentation, which is not a strict criterion.3) Fill out the copyright form. The title of the symposium proceedings is Advances in Neural Networks - ISNN2008. The volume editors are: Fuchun Sun, Jianwei Zhang, Ying Tan, Jinde Cao, Wen Yu.
4) Register for the symposium. Click Registration on the left panel of this page and follow the instructions there.
5) Submit the following for your final submission via the ISNN2008 Online Submission System (click Paper Submission on the right panel of this page):
- LaTeX users, please submit (1) LaTeX files for the text and PS/EPS or PDF/JPG files for all figures, (2) any further style files and fonts you have used together with your source files and that are not generally available at CTAN, (3) final DVI file (for papers prepared using LaTeX/TeX), (4) final PDF file (for reference).
- Other users (word-processing systems other than LaTeX/TeX), please submit RTF files.
- Scanned copyright form
- Scanned proof of payment
We recommend that you place all your files in one directory, zip the directory, and upload the zipped file which contains all necessary files. The signed copyright form and the proof of payment can be also faxed at: +86-10-62797425 or email at: isnn2008@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn .For details, please refer to the Registration page.
